Birth and Fresh 48 Sessions

It may not seem intuitive to invite a photographer to your birth. Labor is private and vulnerable and the last thing you want to worry about in the middle of everything is trying to look good for the camera. A lot of embarrassing things happen during labor and you may not want to remember the pain and trauma for years to come. Maybe you’re not sure the point, who are you going to be showing these pictures to?

Well, if your children are anything like me, or my children, then the story of their birth will always be important and fascinating. It is something they will want to hear over and over. Maybe, like me, you’ll decide to tell them the story every year on their birthday. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have your own book with your words of the experience paired with beautiful images that capture the wonder of first moments, the sacrifice you made to give them life, the faces of the people who supported you through the process, and the raw emotion of meeting a little baby that you already know so intimately? And with COVID restrictions limiting hospital visitors, these sessions can take place at your home.
