Labor of Hope

One of the most transformative professional experience I’ve ever had was shooting my first birth. It was the first time I’d ever been present at someone else’s birth and it was very different from my experience delivering my own 4 children. I was hooked. It was amazing. It was miraculous. I loved it.

Then a friend asked me to cover a celebration of life for a very special boy who lived for only a week. It was there that I learned about Labor of Hope. In their own words Labor of Hope is:

a faith-based non-profit organization that exists to celebrate and value every life. We accomplish this by supporting and equipping families who have received a critical or life-limiting diagnosis during pregnancy.

In action, we serve our clients by providing:

  • RESOURCES to support your journey
  • PHYSICAL LABOR support from a professional birth doula
  • COMMEMORATIVE support from a professional family photographer
Hope Team

I signed up that day to volunteer as a photographer. When I was baptized, I made a covenant to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. This is a small way I can do that. My heart is very drawn to this work. I know it is wonderful, and hard, and so very important. And I am so grateful that I can use my talents to be a blessing for someone facing this kind of grief. It is amazing to work next to women who have taken their own tragedies and turned them into a beautiful organization of love. They not only help mothers and families through the birth process, but provide support groups for the difficult months and years to follow.

If you know of anyone in need of their services

If your heart is also drawn to volunteer.

If you would like to support this organization.
